Four repeats of 2,000 metres with generous rest between efforts. This classic interval session develops lactate threshold, pacing discipline, and the ability to sustain near-race intensity across multiple efforts. A staple of competitive rowing programmes worldwide.

Coaching Notes
- +Target a split roughly 5-8 seconds slower than your 2K personal best.
- +All four reps should be within 2-3 seconds of each other — consistency is the goal.
- +During the 4-minute rest, keep moving. Light rowing or walking prevents blood pooling.
- +Stroke rate should be 26-30 spm during the work intervals.
- +If you cannot hold your target split on rep 3, your target is too aggressive.
