Coaching Notes

  • +Target a split roughly 5-8 seconds slower than your 2K personal best.
  • +All four reps should be within 2-3 seconds of each other — consistency is the goal.
  • +During the 4-minute rest, keep moving. Light rowing or walking prevents blood pooling.
  • +Stroke rate should be 26-30 spm during the work intervals.
  • +If you cannot hold your target split on rep 3, your target is too aggressive.
