Every workout receives a proprietary composite score from 0 to 100, built from four dimensions of performance:
Time spent in each heart rate zone, weighted by intensity. The higher the zone and the longer you sustain it, the more points you earn.
Total watts normalised against your personal baseline. Rewards absolute power and progression over time.
Measures split consistency across the session and detects negative splits. Rewards disciplined, even pacing.
Power output per heartbeat. Captures how efficiently your cardiovascular system is converting effort into speed.

Heart Rate Zone Analysis
Five personalised zones that actually reflect your fitness.
Watta calculates five heart rate zones using the Karvonen method, which factors in your resting heart rate alongside your maximum. This produces zones that are personalised to your aerobic fitness level rather than just your age.
Why does this matter? Simple percentage-of-max formulas treat a sedentary beginner and an elite athlete as identical if they share the same max heart rate. Karvonen zones account for heart rate reserve, so your Zone 2 ceiling actually reflects your fitness. For UT2 training, where the boundary between aerobic base building and threshold work determines the quality of your session, this accuracy is essential.
Clubs & Squads

Create or join clubs to connect with your rowing community. Organise members into squads for sub-groups — a university boat club might have a Men's 1st VIII squad, a Women's Development squad, and a Novice squad, each with its own feed and leaderboard.
Invite teammates with a simple invite code. See club-wide and squad-level leaderboards, share workouts on a social feed, and track how your crew is training. Mark close friends to share more detailed training data with the people who matter most.
Personal Bests & Streaks

Watta automatically tracks personal bests across all standard distances and time pieces. When you set a new PB, you know immediately.
Earn 30 achievement badges across five categories: metres rowed, sessions completed, PBs set, training patterns, and social milestones. Streak tracking counts consecutive weeks with at least one logged workout, with an automatic freeze for one missed week per four-week block so a single rest week does not break your run.
Strava Sync

Connect your Strava account and every workout you log in Watta is automatically pushed to your Strava activity feed. Your rowing sessions appear alongside your runs, rides, and other activities so your training picture stays complete.
