Crash-B Sprints

What is Crash-B Sprints?
The Crash-B Sprints began in 1982 when a group of former Olympic and national team rowers — the "Charles River All-Star Has-Beens" — organised an informal erg race in Boston. It grew into one of the most respected indoor rowing competitions globally, attracting Olympic medallists, university athletes, CrossFitters, and dedicated amateur rowers. The standard race is 2,000 metres on a Concept2 ergometer. The event's prestige comes from its history and the calibre of competition — Crash-B world records are among the most respected benchmarks in indoor rowing. The event has been closely associated with the World Rowing Indoor Championships in recent years.
How Watta Uses Crash-B Sprints
Watta helps athletes train for Crash-B-style 2K erg races by tracking split time trends, monitoring training load, and rating session quality. The Effort Score ensures that preparation sessions are appropriately intense — with most training in the Building and Training zones and race-pace work in the Peak zone.
